Kolar Gold Fields - 1 N

Kolar Gold Fields are believed to be the second deepest gold mines in the world. Situated at a distance of approximately 120 kms from Bangalore, these mines were closed down in the year 2003 because of reducing deposits and hiking costs. However, once Kolar Gold Fields were counted amongst the major gold mines in India. One has to take permission from the Secretary, Kolar Gold Mining Undertaking, K.G.F., for visiting the site.

Tipu's Drop
Tipu's spot is a 600-meter high cliff. It is believed that during Tipu Sultan's reign, the prisoners, to whom death sentence was given, were pushed down from this cliff only. However, one can get spectacular views of the valley from this point.

Yoga Nandishvara Temple
A Chola temple, Yoga Nandishvara stands adorned with an inscription of Shivaji's son, Sambhaji. Dwarapalakas, the splendid metallic figures housed in the temple, are also worth seeing.

Other Attractions
The other places worth visiting in and around Nandi Hills are Gandhi Nilaya, the Nehru House and Amrita Sarovar a beautiful lake.

Nrityagram Dance Village - 2 N

Nrityagram Dance Village is situated at a distance of approximately 30 kms from the city of Bangalore. Founded by Protima Guari, one of the finest Odissi dancers of India, the village lies at Hessarghatta, the rural district of Bangalore.

Gaganachukki
Gaganachukki cascades down a height of 98 m, with the maximum flow of 667,000 cubic feet per second (19,000 m/s). Asia's first hydroelectric power station was set up at this waterfall, in the year 1905. The electricity produced here was mainly used to light up the Gold Mines of Kolar, making Kolar the first Asian city to receive electricity. The power station is situated near a dargah, from where you can have excellent views of Gaganachukki. The waterfall comprises of two porticoes, one in the west and the other in the east.
Bharachukki
The cascading edge of Bharachukki is a little wider than that of Gaganachukki. It is situated at distance of approximately one km from the Dargah. One of its sections resembles a 'U', just like the famous Niagara Falls. The waterfall has a fluid and graceful cascade along the side. There is no viewing gallery for the Bharachukki waterfall and even the flow of tourists is quite low. The currents here are quite strong and the gorge is quite deep. So, swimming is not advised at all.

Whitefield Ashram - 1 N

Whitefield is a suburb of Bangalore, situated at a distance of approximately 24 kms from the heart of the city. The place is mainly known for housing the Brindavan Ashram of Sri Sathya Sai Baba.
